REDIS INSTALLATION

Lets now install  redis  in ubuntu with source file
=======================================

>>We can get redis download path if we search under http://www.filewatcher.com as key word redis-2.4.5.tar.gz

wget ftp://ftp.fr.freebsd.org/mirrors/ftp.freebsd.org/ports/distfiles/redis-2.4.5.tar.gz

>>Let we downloaded it on /home/logstash/downloads and let we extract it

tar -zxvf redis-2.4.5.tar.gz

>>Before compiling lets install file which needed to compile.

apt-get install build-essential

>>Also lets check below packages

dpkg-query –list | grep libc6
dpkg-query –list | grep tcl
apt-get install tcl8.5

>>lets go to tar file location

tar -zxvf ~/downloads/redis-2.4.5.tar.gz

cd redis-2.4.5/
make USE_TCMALLOC=true
make test USE_TCMALLOC=true
make PREFIX=/home/logstash/redis-2.4.5 install
cd ~

Its doesnt install redis.conf

>>lets make symlink file actually for that under utils

./install_server.sh

ln -s redis-2.4.5 redis
vim ~/.bash_profile
export PATH=/home/logstash/redis/bin:$PATH

:wq

>>Make reread ./bash_profile file

source ./bash_profile

>> Lets check version

redis-server
redis-cli
